Stance (2018)
Stance is a piece that questions the intersections between breaking and contemporary dance. The starting point for this is the fundamental stance that we as dancers always have to adopt and find anew, while having to fight to be recognized and respected. In the piece we create a space to liberate ourselves from this struggle to dance freely.
De|code (2022)
The research project De|code investigates the elements of a breaking jam through the lense of choreographic methods. At breaking jams, there is no set sequence, such as choreography or script. From a choreographic perspective, a breaking jam is an improvised, collaborative performance by different people of different origins, genders and backgrounds. A jam may seem like a big unorganized chaos to someone from the outside, but for the participants, who can read the score, there are clear structures in which they move freely and express their art.
